1. The Sorensen School of Dance accepts Interac, E-transfers, Visa and MasterCard as methods of payment. Fees are payable at the start of each term. Students will not be permitted to continue into the next term until previous outstanding accounts are paid in full. The school has 4, 9 week sessions in the year. This allows parents consistency in term costs and great budgeting.

2. The studio adheres to a no refund policy after the first two weeks of term one has passed. Classes commence in September.

3. A student may withdraw from classes at the end of any term. Parents are asked to notify the office at least two weeks prior.

4. If a student misses a class, we do not offer make up classes. If a class is canceled due to weather conditions (storms, power outages, etc.), classes will not be rescheduled. As recital time approaches, additional practices are often scheduled. This adequately compensates for any lost time. The studio very rarely closes and, when we do, we use our website, studio Facebook page, Instagram, voicemail, and local radio stations to relay closure information.

5. SSOD reserves the right to provide a substitute teacher in the event of a teacher illness or inability to work.

6. For the 2024-2025 season we are closed Monday, September 30th for Truth and Reconciliation Day; Thanksgiving Monday, October 14th; Remembrance Day, Monday, November 11th and Tuesday, November 26th for our annual Christmas Show. Our recital week is June 1-4, 2025 performed at the St. John’s Arts and Culture Centre. Show nights are June 3rd and 4th!

7. A $60.00 non-refundable costume deposit is required before costumes will be ordered for students. Of course, this deposit is then deducted from the final costume cost. This year the costume deposit will be due before Christmas Break.

8. Effective July 1, 2022 masking is no longer required to enter and exit SSOD but is a personal choice. We do have masks available at our main entrance and a hand sanitizing station. If your dancer is unwell, please keep them home. The health and safety of our dancers and team is priority #1!

9. The studio is not responsible for lost or stolen articles. Please DO NOT leave cell phones, purses and other valuables in the change room. Dancers are not to go in the studio cubbies! The cubbies are for dance bags and NOT the children!

10. Chewing gum is not permitted in class.

11. Students who arrive after the warm up portion of class may be asked to sit and observe. Participation without proper warm up can lead to injury. Students who do not respect the dress code for their dance classes will be asked to sit until they wear the proper dance attire.

12. Hair should we worn up in a neat fashion. A bun is expected for ballet classes but braids, ponytail and pigtails are accepted for all other classes.
